EAB Navigate360 – Applying the MTSU Academic Advising Syllabus and Assessment Expectations

Advisor Mastery Program (AMP) Workshops

These workshops will focus primarily on advisor skill-building and knowledge-building. Potential topics include:

  • Technical/Software/Administrative skills (Excel, TEAMS, ARGOS, reading high school transcripts, etc.)
  • Advising approaches and best practices
  • Legal/Ethical issues in advising
  • Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

Workshops will be offered twice a month, and will generally be worth 1 point (unless otherwise stated). Workshops will vary in terms of being offered in-person or via zoom.

This training session provides academic advisors with hands-on guidance for using Navigate in alignment with the MTSU Academic Advising Syllabus and the institution's advising assessment initiatives. Participants will explore how to incorporate syllabus expectations into their advising practices within Navigate, including documentation, appointment summaries, communication strategies, and tracking student progress. The session will also highlight how Navigate supports ongoing assessment efforts, helping advisors contribute meaningfully to data collection and continuous improvement. By the end of the training, advisors will be better equipped to apply standardized practices that enhance student engagement, accountability, and the overall effectiveness of academic advising at MTSU.
