Advisor Mastery Program (AMP) Workshops
These workshops will focus primarily on advisor skill-building and knowledge-building. Potential topics include:
- Technical/Software/Administrative skills (Excel, TEAMS, ARGOS, reading high school transcripts, etc.)
- Advising approaches and best practices
- Legal/Ethical issues in advising
- Inclusive Excellence
Workshops will be offered twice a month, and will generally be worth 1 point (unless otherwise stated). Workshops will vary in terms of being offered in-person or via zoom.

Academic suspension can be a pivotal moment in a student’s college journey—often filled with uncertainty, reflection, and opportunity for growth. This professional development session will focus on how advisors can effectively support students as they return from suspension and work toward degree completion.
Participants will explore the emotional, academic, and institutional challenges students face following suspension and learn evidence-based strategies to promote resilience, motivation, and accountability. The session will highlight best practices for creating structured re-entry plans, setting realistic goals, and leveraging campus resources to support long-term success.
Key topics include:
- Understanding academic policies related to suspension and re-enrollment
- Coaching strategies for rebuilding confidence and academic habits
- Developing recovery plans focused on GPA improvement and retention
- Equity-minded approaches to supporting students after setbacks
