The College of Behavioral and Health Sciences provides high-quality education to over 4,200 students enrolled in health-related programs. These programs produce a significant portion of the doctoral and master's graduates crucial to maintaining MTSU's R2 classification. Funding for this proposal will allow us to maintain state-of-the-art hands-on training and thus continue to address critical demand for new professionals with such hands-on experience. The requested items will specifically benefit undergraduate and graduate students in the following disciplines: 1) the accredited Clinical and School Psychology programs (new assessment kits required to continue meeting legal and ethical standards), 2) the Behavior Analysis Specialization (equipment needed for student training and directed graduate research/theses) (3) Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology (audiometer and otoscope for clinical training), and (4) essential health-related equipment for the Exercise Science and Athletic Training programs (ergometer, electrotherapy, laser therapy and ultrasound therapy systems). Funding is also requested for modernizing equipment to align with industry standards and elevate student competency in Criminal Justice Administration (3D scanner) and Human Sciences programs (3D modeling software and industrial sewing machines). By investing in these resources, we will equip over 1,700 undergraduate and 180 graduate students with the skills and experience necessary to excel in their chosen professions. This proposal directly addresses the critical demand for highly qualified professionals in these fields.
