Biography
Dr. Marcus Knight joined the MTSU Concrete Industry Management Faculty in the Fall semester of 2005. Marcus received his Bachelor of Science degree in 1995 and a Master of Science degree in 1998, both in Civil Engineering from Tennessee Technological University. Read More »Dr. Marcus Knight joined the MTSU Concrete Industry Management Faculty in the Fall semester of 2005. Marcus received his Bachelor of Science degree in 1995 and a Master of Science degree in 1998, both in Civil Engineering from Tennessee Technological University. In May 2007, Dr. Knight was awarded his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Vanderbilt University. His dissertation was titled “Quantitative Framework,” highlighting the subjective nature of bridge inspection and improving quantification of actual conditions during the assessment process. Also, a statistical methodology was developed to stratify the National Bridge Inventory (NBI) into groups of similar structures from each group and gathering data for extrapolation across the remaining structures from the respective groups.
Dr. Knight lives in Murfreesboro with his wife, Shelia and their daughter, Lydia.
