Biography
Kim Honaker is an Associate Professor in the Department of Accounting in the Jones College of Business at Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Dr. Honaker received her D.B.A from Kennesaw State University and both her Master of Accountancy and B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Tennessee- Knoxville.

Kim Honaker is an Associate Professor in the Department of Accounting in the Jones College of Business at Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Dr. Honaker received her D.B.A from Kennesaw State University and both her Master of Accountancy and B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Tennessee- Knoxville.
A CPA with experience in both Big 4 public accounting and industry, Dr. Honaker worked previously as a corporate tax director for publicly traded companies where she focused on Accounting for Income Taxes (ASC 740/FAS 109), Accounting for Uncertainty in Income Taxes (ASC 740-10/FIN 48), SOX 404 controls, and SEC reporting for multinational corporations. Her research interests are in corporate taxation with a focus on corporate tax avoidance, the purchase of auditor-provided tax services, and the impact of regulation on the supply and demand of tax professionals. She teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in taxation.
