Biography
Heather Brown is the vice president of quality control and quality assurance with Irving Materials Inc. (imi) covering divisions in concrete, asphalt, aggregates, and soils in Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, and Tennessee. Read More »Heather Brown is the vice president of quality control and quality assurance with Irving Materials Inc. (imi) covering divisions in concrete, asphalt, aggregates, and soils in Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, and Tennessee. From 2001–21, Brown was a professor, director, and department chair in the School of Concrete and Construction Management at MTSU. She joined Concrete Industry Management during its beginnings, helping the program become the flagship of five CIM schools and the first to offer the CIM M.B.A. She has been a mentor/teacher to more than 1,200 alumni. Brown is an ACI Fellow active on several committees, such as FAC, Foundation/Scholarship Council, 522, and C655. She has received the Walter P. Moore Jr. and Joe W. Kelly awards from ACI and served on the board of directors. She worked with the Tennessee Department of Transportation Materials and Test Division as a research assistant during her graduate program. Brown earned her B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Tennessee Technological University.
