Dr. Ben Stickle is a Professor of Criminal Justice Administration at Middle Tennessee State University, specializing in research, grantsmanship, and teaching. Dr. Stickle’s work has been published in leading journals like American Journal of Criminal Justice, Vctims and Offenders, Policing, and European Journal of Criminology. He is the author of Metal Scrappers and Thieves (Springer, 2017) and editor/co-editor of multiple books on environmental criminology and policing. With over 20 years of experience in law enforcement, Dr. Stickle has served as a Police Officer, Crime Scene Investigator, and expert witness on police administration. He is a graduate of the National Forensic Academy and holds leadership roles such as 2nd Vice President of the Southern Criminal Justice Association and Distinguished Research Fellow at the Loss Prevention Research Council. As a principal investigator or evaluator on grants totaling over $14 million, Dr. Stickle works with agencies to address issues like mental health, offender reentry, and human trafficking. His expertise informs innovative teaching and experiential learning opportunities for students.
